A123 Systems is an American company. It was founded in the year 2001. This company is totally dedicated to manufacturing nano phosphate lithium-ion batteries. Phosphate lithium-ion battery delivers high energy density which enhances the life cycle of the battery.

It recently plans for another mega factory. 2019 debt is estimated at zero and PE is 38.7. 2019 net profit margin is 10.18 percent. It has a total production capacity of 32GWh.

Panasonic is the world’s third-largest manufacturing company. It is a Japanese company and the stock price is  JPY 911. Japan’s number one battery manufacturer with strong links to Tesla. It has agreements to supply BMW, Tesla, and Toyota. The recent Toyota or Panasonic collaboration has large potential given Toyota’s size. Analysis consensus holds with a price target of JPY 1061 representing a 17% upside. Panasonic is now manufacturing batteries for Tesla with higher efficiency and performance.

Korea’s LG Chem is the world’s number second company. The stock price is Korean currency KRW 332,500. It is one of the greatest manufacturing companies in making lithium-ion batteries and supplies to a wide range of industries. LG chem has agreements to supply Volkswagen, Ford, Renault, Hyundai Kia, etc.

It plans to increase the EV battery production by three times capacity to as much as 110 gigawatt-hour by the end of 2020 and it needs to expand to at least 170 GW hour in 2024 to meet the growth target. LG chem recently reported weaker profits down, 83% in the year 2019 due to higher raw material costs and weaker demand. It plans to construct new plants in China and Poland. It supplies batteries for consumer goods like laptops and smartphones.

Tesla is a USA company that is the world’s number 1 battery manufacturer and also it is the first I.e., top 1 battery manufacturer in the USA. It manufactures long-lasting batteries with which its cars are built. Tesla is tied up with Panasonic and present they are purchasing lithium-ion batteries from Panasonic.

Their company which is in US Gigafactory is the world’s largest lithium-ion manufacturing factory. Tesla is mostly focusing on energy storage products and they are now currently number 1 seller of electric cars globally. Tesla has plans to construct their Shanghai china gigafactory. In the next 3 years, Tesla is expected to rely on Chinese lithium-ion battery producers. According to Tesla, the initial production rate target of 250,000 electric cars per year.
