TCS Hiring Process, Online Test, TCS Technical Interview Questions

Hello guys, welcome back to my blog. In this article, I will discuss the TCS hiring process, online test questions, TCS technical interview questions, HR interview questions at Tata consultancy services, etc.

01. Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS) is an Indian multinational information technology (IT) services and consulting company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is a subsidiary of the Tata Group and operates in 149 locations across 46 countries. It is the world’s largest IT services provider.

02. TCS is one of the topmost recruiters in India in the field of information technology, therefore, it is imperative for the aspirants to know some basic yet important information about the company before going in for the interview. This blog states some basic information regarding TCS such as its history, organization heads, the tagline of the company, products, and services offered, etc., which should be kept in mind by the candidates before going in for the interview. Freshers are generally offered the role of ‘Software Engineer Trainee’ at TCS.

03. TCS is a global leader in technology and consulting services. It enables clients in 46 countries to create and execute strategies for their digital transformation.

04. A part of the Tata group, TCS has 3,95,000 associates(including subsidiaries) representing  131 nationalities, spanning across 46 countries as of March 31, 2018. The company generated consolidated revenues of US $19.09 billion( a growth of 8.6% over the previous year)  for the year ended on March 31, 2018, and is listed on the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange in India.

Eligibility Criteria

01. Salary offered:

  • Ninja:3.36 LPA+60K one-time Performance-based incentive.
  • Digital: 7LPA+60K one-time learning-based incentive.

02. Eligible courses: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech / MCA / M.Sc.

03. Test was held according to participant choice either online or offline (Test Centers).

04. Eligibility Criteria: •Minimum 60% or 6CGPA throughout academics

05. Backlogs – Only 1 active backlog when appearing for the TCS Selection process is permitted.

06. Gap in academics – Should not exceed 24 months.

07. Age- Between 18 to 28years.

08. Course types – Only full-time courses will be considered.

Online Test

The online test consisted of the following.

01. 24 Verbal Ability Questions (English Grammar, Reading Comprehension) Duration 30min.

02. 30 Reasoning Ability Questions Duration 50 min.

03. 26 Numerical Ability(Arrangements and Series, Permutation and Combination, Probability, Work and Time, Profit Loss, Ages, etc.) Questions Duration 40 min.

04. 10 Programming Logic Questions (Graphs, Trees, OOPS Concepts, Recursion Predict Output (based on C, Java, C++)Duration 15 min. 2 Coding  Questions Duration 45 min.

Coding Round

05. If your NQT Test goes very well you will be called for a coding round for the digital profile.

06. Coding Round consists of 2 questions time 60 min.

TCS Interview questions from student 03:

After clearing online test interview was held after a gap of almost 2 weeks. It was held in online mode only and the interview lasted for about 45min. First there was a technical round and later in the same interview meeting, the HR round was taken. The technical round consisted of questions like:

04. What is the difference between overload and override?

05. What is inheritance?

TCS Interview questions from student 08:

01. They first go through your resume, so be thorough with your resume. Each and every technical skill mentioned in the resume will be asked.

02. Be thorough with your favorite subject.

03. Be thorough with the basics of C like Arrays, strings, pointers & structures.

04. Know your Projects very well.

05. They may also ask to write some simple programs like Fibonacci series, reversing string or array, and data types & storage classes of C.
