What are the difference between AC and DC transmission lines?

I need short information.

  1. In AC transmission system, three conductors(R, Y, B) will be there if it is single transmission line. In DC transmission system, there will be two conductors.
  2. The cost of conductor is less in dc transmission system and the cost of conductor is more in ac transmission system.
  3. In dc transmission system, inverter and converters are required because dc voltage can not be supplied to transformer whereas in ac transmission system, power converters are not required.
