  1. Easy to implement
  2. Upright, accurate, and good performance under uniform radiation
  3. Online and does not depend on PV array

 
The disadvantages of perturb and observe the MPPT technique are:

  1. Oscillations around steady-state occur during fast-varying environmental conditions
  2. Difficulty of the step size control
