LAM Research Hiring Process, Eligibility Criteria, Selection Process

Hello guys, welcome back to my blog. In this article, I will discuss LAM research hiring process, eligibility criteria, selection process, online test questions, technical round interview questions, HR round interview questions, etc.

LAM Research

Lam Research was established in 1980 by Dr. David K. Lam and is headquartered in Fremont, California, in the Silicon Valley. As of 2018, it was the second-largest producer in the Bay Area, after Tesla.

Lam Research Corporation is an American corporation that involves in the design, manufacture, marketing, and service of semiconductor processing equipment utilized in the fabrication of integrated circuits.

Its products are utilized primarily in front-end wafer processing, which includes the steps that create the active components of semiconductor devices (transistors, capacitors) and their wiring (interconnects). The company also manufactures equipment for back-end wafer-level packaging (WLP), and for related manufacturing markets such as microelectromechanical systems (MEMS).

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Internship Hiring
  2. Eligible branches: EEE, Mech.
  3. BE CGPA of 7.25 & above with No current backlogs (No restriction on 10th,12th/
  4. Diploma scores)
  5. Position: Electrical Engineer Intern
  6. Only Female Candidates
  7. 6 Months Internship
  8. Internship Stipend: Rs.42000/- Per Month Only
  9. Full-Time Conversion is based on candidate performance & Company requirements.
  10. The salary offered is more than 8LPA.

Selection Process

Round 1: Aptitude + Technical
Round 2: Technical Interview

Round 1

  1. Quantitative +Technical.
  2. Total 60 questions and 60 minutes.(15 Quant+45 Tech)
  3. Quantitative: Ratio and Proportions, Profit and Loss, Mixtures, Data Interpretation and Logical reasoning, Time and Work
  4. Logical and Verbal Ability: Comprehension and patterns based questions.
  5. Technical: Digital Electronics, Power Electronics, Machines, Switch gears, Circuit analysis, Microcontrollers.

Round 2: Technical Interview

It was around 60-90 minutes.

  1. Tell me about yourself with your family background.
  2. Explain any one project in detail and its application.
  3. Asked questions from Power Systems and Power Electronics and the questions were basically from the types of converters, stability criteria for converters, parameters, and designing of converters, alternate operations for converters, semiconductor devices, and working of those devices.
  4. In which domain of electrical you are interested to work.
  5. Given a question on Digital Electronics that is there are 8 inputs and 1 output, and 4 inputs are high, other 4 inputs are low and expected output should be high. This problem was to be analyzed. There were questions on basic gates and universal gates.
  6. Working of inverters and rectifiers.
  7. Questions were there from harmonics and ripples like What is the difference between ripples and harmonics? Why only odd harmonics are considered?
  8. Generator’s working principle, Why Fleming’s right-hand rule, the output of generator(Voltage or Current), the difference between generator and motor, does generator works as motor? What is the basic difference between synchronous and induction motor and their working principle?
  9. Questions on Internship mentioned in Resume.
  10. Asked about the ongoing project.
  11. Few managerial questions like Team Coordination and Time management during the completion of course projects.

Suggestions From Diksha Tiwari

  1. Be prepared with what all you have written in your Resume.
  2. Choose your favorite subject and the if project to be explained wisely.
  3. Be confident in the answers which you are saying as there may be defending questions from Interviewer Board.
  4. Don’t fake and be confident.
